Terms & Conditions of Sale
In these terms and conditions, the "Company" will mean The Munching Mongoose and the "Customer" will mean any person, firm, company or body which places an order with the Company. Please read these terms and conditions carefully before placing an order. By using the site or any part of it, and by placing an order by phone, email or sms, you agree that you have read these terms and conditions and that you accept and agree to be bound by them.
1. Commitment
The Company promises to abide by the following commitments to our customers:
- We will make every effort to deliver on the promised day. If, for reasons outside of our control, we are unable to make the promised delivery, we will contact the client with immediate effect and make other plans.
- We will make every effort to only source products from ethical and sustainable farms and artisans. If we discover that a supplier is not using ethical, sustainable or environmentally friendly methods, we will cease to use their services.
- We will provide the best level of service that we are capable of, always putting the customer first in all our doings.
- We will ensure that we are available and approachable. We will respond to any query or complaint within 48 hours of having received it.
- We will meet our charitable commitments and not renege on any agreements regarding donations or charitable work.
- We will conduct ourselves with honesty, integrity and openness. We will abide by our terms & conditions, but also by a moral code and will always treat our customers well.
2. General
- The Company shall make every effort to ensure that the price and details of all products are up to date. Prices are subject to change without prior notice and all orders are subject to Companys acceptance at its sole discretion and stock availability.
- The prices charged are those applicable on the day you order.
- All orders are subject to confirmation of final availability and the Company reserves the right to reject the order in the event that any of the products or services requested are unavailable. In the event that we are unable to fulfil any of the products or services in your order, we will notify you by phone or email before delivery.
- All orders are subject to these terms & conditions, by paying their invoice, the customer is assumed to have read, understood and agreed with these terms & conditions.
3. Registration
You are required to register before placing any order through with the Company. During the registration, you must provide us with accurate, complete and up to date registration information.
- The Company has the absolute discretion to refuse registration of a potential customer and to terminate the registration of any customer for any reason whatsoever.
- You must inform us immediately of any changes to the information that you provided so that we can communicate with you effectively.
4. Breakage/Damage/Deficiency
- Our objective is to pioneer reusable packaging. Should The Munching Mongoose incur a loss or damage to reusable crates, canvas bags or glass milk bottles due to neglect by the customer, a fee of R250 will automatically be charged to the credit card linked to the customer account. This clause will also apply to non-return of packaging upon cancellation of service.
- Fresh, organically grown produce may have the occasional physical defect – this is a result of the ethical and environmentally processes used to farm them and cannot be used as an example of deficiency. We will, however, consider claims for items that are completely off.
- The Customer is requested to examine the goods immediately upon delivery for any deficiencies and/or damages. Claims (if any) must be sent to [email protected] with a relevant photograph within two days (48 hours) of delivery, otherwise we shall have the discretion to refuse your claim after delivery.
- Only items that can be proven to be completely off will be considered for replacements.
5. Orders/Refund/Replace Policy
- Orders for the week are preempted by sending an email and sms to customers. Should a customer have an order for that week and fail to change that schedule from their side, the order will be generated.
- It is the receivers responsibility to check the condition of any goods received, at the time of delivery.

6. Force Majeure
- The Company shall not be liable for any delay or failure in its performance caused by or resulting from acts of God, fire, flood, accident, riot, war, government intervention, embargoes, strikes, labour difficulties, equipment failures, or any other causes beyond the control of the Company.
7. Payment Terms:
- All orders need to be paid in full before delivery
- We accept payment by Electronic Funds Transfer into our account, or via our Paypal account.
- All product prices listed are in South African Rand. The Company is not VAT registered.
- The company reserves the right to change the payment terms for any order without prior notice.
- Customers who have opted for weekly ordering instead of a monthly option will be charged a R50 fee for the collection of empty crates and bottles – this fee is only refundable in the event of the customer signing up for an ongoing order plan.
8. Delivery:
- We offer FREE delivery (single location only) for all weekly orders
- Orders must be placed by 10am Tuesday in order to be received by Friday.
- We reserve the right to charge an additional delivery fee if the recipient is not available to accept delivery at the nominated delivery time.
- The customer may use one of the allocated collection points instead of our delivery service, the different options should be communicated to the customer at the time of placing the order.
- If the customer elects to use a collection point, the Company cannot be held responsible for the condition of the produce when it is collected, we can only take responsibility for its condition at the time of delivery.
- It is the responsibility of the customer to notify The Company immediately of any change to their delivery address.
- We reserve the right to decline delivery of goods to any customer at our sole discretion absolutely.
9. Disclaimers:
- We source all our produce from farmers who farm according to natural, wholesome and organic principles – this means that our food is as healthy as we can find it, but, it also means that nature has a big say in what we get. Organic produce is at the mercy of the seasons, the weather and from time-to-time, the insect world.
- We cannot guarantee the specific fruit & veg that will appear in the box every week, we can only guarantee it’s value and quality
- Our products have not been genetically modified, therefore their shelf-life might be a bit shorter than their store-bought counterparts. Please follow the storage instructions found in your info pamphlets and on the labels. The company cannot be held responsible for food spoiling if it has not been stored correctly.
- Our produce is sourced from a wide range of suppliers and comes into contact with a lot of different foods – so we cannot guarantee that anything is allergen-free.
10. Conduct:
- The Company and its employees will abide by all South African laws, practices and Acts.
- The Company will abide by its Code of Conduct in all matters.
